Frequently Asked Questions
What is online training?

Honestly, I never really liked the term "online" training. The fact is the training is done either at home or at a gym. The internet is simply the tool that we can use to communicate.
How does it work?

It's really very simple. I use videos (custom or stock), phone conversation and e-mail to guide you through your program. We can use whatever combination works for you.
How does it differ from traditional personal training?

What is interesting here is that it is still very personal even though communication is at a distance. I only take on a few clients at a time to ensure that appropriate energy and attention is given to each client. What is different is that some of the terms have to be met without me. I won't be at the gym waiting for you, for example.

So, what if I have an accountability problem? Will this still work for me?

I can't guarantee anything. What I can tell you is that part of my job is to help you to establish strategies that address your weaknesses. If you have trouble with accountability then part of my job will be to help you to overcome this. It makes no sense to simply rely on someone else forever. My goal is to make you independent.
How long until I see results?

Immediately. The moment you make the commitment you have already improved. Overcoming inertia is perhaps the single most important thing in overcoming any obstacle. In the Marine Corps there is a saying that, "The only bad decision is the one not made." I agree with this philosophy entirely. That being said, you can expect to notice changes in your body in the first three weeks. You'll notice changes in your mind within the first minute.
How much do I need to commit?

In general, expect to do 2-4 weight training sessions per week and daily cardio. Keep in mind, cardio can be done in as little as 20 minutes a clip, so it isn’t as much of a commitment as you might expect. Weight training can be done in as little as 10-15 minutes!
What are your fees?

Again, it’s very simple. I charge sixty dollars for each hour of my time. All I need is a budget and I can make it work. I can do as little as an hour a month once the initial consultation and program is established. Typically, you can expect about 2 hours for the initial workup. But again, I am happy to take a look at the budget and make it work.
Is there an "ideal" amount of time that you like to spend on a client?

Initially, I like to do the work up and then spend about an hour per week advising. After about a month we can cut back on this to every other week. My online clients call this "checking in." What I don't like are the programs that have set minimums and monthly payment schedules. We are all different and we all can't follow the same programs or payment schedules. Like I said, I'll make it work one way or the other. If you can afford me every morning for an hour than I'm happy to oblige, but if you can only swing an hour a month then I won't take it any less seriously.
Can I cancel at anytime?

No. We'll make an arrangement that works for you and for me and then we’ll both be accountable. So, if you commit to two months for an hour per week, then I will do the same. You'll be responsible for payment whether you do the work or not. Again, we'll both agree on this beforehand.
How do I pay?

Credit card or check. Payment is due prior to each training period. For example, if you have two "sessions" with me in a particular month, then payment is due at the beginning of the month. I won't work until payment is received. I'm not a very good bill collector and would rather concentrate on what I do best.
What happens if I don't get results?

Honestly, you'd be the first. My success is due to keeping things simple and easy to follow. If you aren't doing the work then you won't get results. But it won't be because of me. If you show up and follow the program then you'll achieve the goals that we set.
I don't belong to a gym and I don't have any equipment at home. Can I still do this?

Yup. Like I said, I'll make it work. If you don't belong to a gym and don't have equipment at home then I can safely assume you aren't doing much at the moment. Simple exercises that I can show you via video clip will be enough to get you results right away. And of course, you don't need any equipment to walk, jog or eat better...
Alright, I'm ready to try this.

First lesson. There is no such thing as "trying." You either do it or you don't. So, if you really want to get results then begin by changing the word "try" to "do."
